Transparency & Disclosure Statement
Travel is a big commitment. And for many people, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, paid for with years of hard work and saving. Not to mention the huge investment of time and energy that goes into planning the adventure they’ve always dreamed about.
When I recommend a hotel, tour, product, or service, I take that responsibility seriously. You deserve clarity about how it all works and how to protect yourself when booking or purchasing via referral links on this website.
How I Earn Commission
Be aware that some of the links are affiliate links. This means that should you click through to make a booking or purchase, I may earn a small commission for that referral – at no additional cost to you.
This commission helps support the work that I do, but it never influences my recommendations. I only share products and services I would use myself.
In articles where I may make a recommendation, I will identify whether it was paid for or comped, allowing you to consider that detail.
I only partner with companies whose products or services I would confidently recommend to my own family.
I do not accept compensation in exchange for positive reviews.
If I ever receive a complimentary experience, I disclose it clearly — and my assessment remains honest.
Why Am I Telling You This?
Because trust matters.
You are spending real money – often that money represents hard work and sacrifice over many years – on experiences that will shape your life. My role is to help you make informed choices, not to push you into opaque systems that could cause you stress.
Are all systems perfect? No. But when I know there are issues, I will do my best to inform you, and when I can, I will provide information as to how to best navigate them.
Also, in the interests of transparency, in articles where I may make a recommendation, I will identify whether it was paid for by a third party, allowing you to consider that detail when making your travel choices.
I update information regularly, but policies and systems can change quickly.
When in doubt, always confirm directly with the provider.
My goal is to help you travel with confidence, clarity, and joy.
Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey.

—> BOOKING
Who Are You Contracting With?
When you are booking through Booking.com the contracting party depends on the payment method you choose. This affects:
- who issues your invoice
- who holds your payment
- who is responsible if something goes wrong
If You Choose “PAY AT THE PROPERTY”
- You are contracting directly with the hotel
- the hotel is the merchant of record
- the hotel issues your invoice (including VAT details)
- You maintain a direct relationship with the property
If You Choose “Online Payment/Pay NOW”
- You are contracting directly with Booking.com B.V.
- Booking.com is the merchant of record
- the hotel CANNOT issue an invoice
- Your invoice will come directly from Booking.com, which may or may not include the business details you need
This distinction is important for business travellers who are required to keep receipts, or anyone who needs an itemised invoice.
If YOU Require an INVOICE FROM THE HOTEL
- Select Pay at the Property
- add your details in the special requests field
- Confirm at check-in that the hotel has everything they need
If You Paid Booking.com
- Booking.com is your contracting party
- they payment issues
- invoice requests
- modifications
PLEASE NOTE: Hotels CANNOT override Booking.com’s policies
